Another fine screw up by IR

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

“We wish to announce that the 0743 from Hazelhatch is running 28 minutes late”.

Clondalkin Station

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

The incompetence with this reject ship that is Irish Rail continues. To facilitate track laying through the old Clondalkin station, the Down platform has been decommissioned in advance of the new station at Fonthill opening. Why the hurry lads? You can’t demolish the last road overbridge before Hazelhatch until the new Celbridge - Newcastle road bridge is finished and reopened. And you can’t do that either, allegedly ;)

Scumbags introduce pay parking

Friday, September 26th, 2008

A word of warning to NCPS Ltd. When you co-operate with scum like Irish Rail, you will cease to exist with the scum when the State is persuaded to abolish Irish Rail and jail its employees (as easily achieved as an Independent TD making it a condition of support for a minority Government).

A constitutional referendum can authorise anything, including restrospective outlawing of car parking charges at railway stations and clamping. It can also jail people for life without trial and even authorise execution.

I can wait.

Goon squad at it again - 24th September

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Every Wednesday is it boys? I will be formally asking for your names and addresses in order to allow us to intern you at a later date.

Internet Register Ireland

Scammers and fraudsters. If you receive one of these in the post, above all, do not sign it. However, what you should do is return their post paid envelope via the nearest postbox, empty. That way they will be paying An Post for the privelege of getting back their empty envelope.

Heuston LUAS inconsistencies

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Don’t you just love those with State licences? Their behaviour is usually even more fascist than the State itself (and with the most corrupt police force in Western Europe, that is something!).

On 15th September, LUAS Central Control got to get their rocks off on a motorcyclist who had the temerity to park his bike on the non LUAS side of the inbound platform (i.e. the bus stop side). Central control immediately kicked into gear and starting making announcements that it was illegal to park a motorbike on LUAS property.

First of all, assholes, he was on the other side of the divide and secondly, can you tell me under what specific law it is  illegal. After all, you had the most corrupt police force in Western Europe arrest cyclists for cycling on the tramlines on the basis that is was illegal, only to find out that it wasn’t.

On a related issue, on 24th September, there was a security van parked on the same bus stop side of the “platform”. Surely this is also illegal?

Can I also take it that the next time I see a Garda motorbike parked between the tracks at the southern end of the station, that I can place him/her under citizens arrest for the illegal parking of his/her bike.

We wish to apologise for the delay -

This is due to gross incompetence at every level of our organisation.

LUAS gives out Dairy Milk Bars

Monday, September 8th, 2008

to thank customers for their patience during the reconstruction works outside Connolly to allow for the Dockland line. Very cleverly done, with a purple sticker stating “Thank you from LUAS” “Thank you for your patience & co-operation during the temporary closure of Connolly & Busáras Luas Stops”. Now, I wonder, what am I due from Irish Rail for 18 years of crap!

Terrorist goon squad at it again

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

After a brief leave of absence, the unconstitutional (and therefore ultravires and illegal) zero tolerance ticket check was back in Heuston Station this morning.

Maybe it is time to remind the goons involved that as excuses go, “I was following orders” didn’t work for the Nazis - it will not work for you either. In addition, as a substantial proportion of STT staff appear to be of East European origin, can I bring to their attention the fact that the Polish government is currently carrying out a purge of communist collaborators in State employment. Can you not see the parallel that could hit you in years to come? Or perhaps you only see as far as the next pay cheque.

Update to “A Station called Hundred”

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Lads,

Can ye not take a comment made in jest? On the 1805 ex Heuston to Portlaoise today, the driver told us, in all sincerity, that when the announcement refered to “Hundred”, it meant Adamstown.

It would be easier if IR did not reduce its staff to this level and actually reprogrammed whatever it is they use to generate the automatic announcements. After all, with new stations at Parkwest, Fonthill and Kishoge due on stream in about a year, this will need to be done. Or perhaps that is what they are waiting for.

Whatever money you want for capital investment (cost of the train) but no money for current expenditure (reprogramming the announcement). Of course, maybe the problem is that the beancounters in Irish Rail cannot allocate a SAP number to the reprogramming!
