At 1635, I observed a passenger waiting to board the 1650 train to Galway smoking on the station concourse unhindered.

Announcements on the delayed 1810 to Newbridge in the dead language precede those in English. It makes you wonder, when will IR put as much effort into running trains to time as they do to pandying to a minority vested interest with a negative contribution to society.

At 1740, there was a passenger in the queue for the Cork train on Platform 5 smoking without being stopped.

3rd June 2008 - 1805 ex Heuston Station to Portlaoise

Oh the joys of Irish Rail’s platform timetables. The 1805 to Portlaoise was delayed (as ever), but rather than report the delay on the platform indicators, once 1805 came, the indicators said “Departed”.
